This piece started out about finding forgiveness. Closed off from the hurt I saw and looking within for a place beyond tears. The longer I held myself open for that metamorphosis, a new idea began to emerge. Forgiveness makes a value judgment that something is either bad or good. What if those labels are beside the point? Rather than dwelling on good or bad, how about coming to terms with what is? Finding, instead of forgiveness; acceptance. It has been that understanding that has washed over me in stages. It’s a practice more than a destination and I have to work on it constantly. This piece is my offering to that pursuit.
