There is a wonderful story about this amazing woman who lived in the village on Maui’s west side, where Safeway is now located in Lahaina.

Through her courage and the use of owls she saved her village. My friend, Apela has been researching her story for years. Her book about this amazing account will soon be published. As soon as I get more information I will post it here.
