On our first day Roger hosted a book launch for “Information Warfare” by Michael J. Dorfman. It was attended by a host of wonderful, like-minded, critical thinking people.
It’s a heady experience when you feel you’re being “seen” by the people you meet. Especially when they’re people that you hold in high regard, people that operate in a higher consciousness, people like Maria Paz, a woman that’s been studying the Mayan Shamanic ways. Or people like Roger who is such a connector of minds and feels like a new best buddy. Or people like Dr. Zia who is also on a healing path both through her physical work and spiritual endeavors and who is a shining light herself. I suspect she is going to become a good friend. You know how you just KNOW when you meet someone? Well it’s like that.
SO much has happened and I’ve been exposed to so much culture -
Starting with a healing through tapping with Bonita with whom I felt a particularly warm bond (somethings you can’t explain)
Mayan Tecum reading from Maria Paz - interesting stuff. She invited Zia and I to visit and study with her in Guatamala.
The Mazatec cacao ceremony with Azalea. Her angelic and then earthy voice as she chanted and sang.
Visiting Via Organica, the organic farm cofounded by Roger and Rosana that provides the food that they serve at Casa Angelitos. It’s a great reminder of how we all should be living - without the GMO factor that you can actually feel the absence of.
A rooftop jazz performance - of Grammy Caliber musicians playing against the nighttime view of San MIguel
Then the hot air balloon ride with Fernando and friends - who can complain about being up, up and away?
La Gruta hot springs with the girls - which felt like a spa day
The Toyan Winery that’s totally organic and has underground tunnels and wine tasting. Thoughtfully designed and decorated with quantum physics, spirituality and energy sources in mind.
Pozos, a nearby town that was having a festival where we saw amazing ruins and went down a silver mine
Going to Delores Hidalgo with Roger where I saw large ceramic production studios . . . .AMAZING!
Salsa and Tango dancing - I can’t wrap my head around the fact that it had been at least 25 years since I went out dancing. It boggles my brain that I let that much time pass because it’s so joyful. The dance community here is SO warm and inviting that I felt very much at home.
Then to top it all off, our last day there we participated in a Temazcal. Done in the traditional style in an adobe structure this was a “sweat lodge” kind of experience. Guided by healers the experience of releasing and receiving was a huge blessing.
. . . this has been one long drawn out journey of openings for my heart and spirit. -
Instead of trying to capture joy, as though it were an evasive lightning bug, it seems that it is blooming slowly in my heart, lotus flower style. It feels lovely.
